Los Angeles: Hollywood actor Tom Holland has confirmed that he is married to his 'Spider-Man' co-star Zendaya, ending months of speculation about the couple's relationship.
Holland confirmed the marriage during an interview with Esquire for its latest cover story. The 30-year-old actor recalled that his grandmother had seen AI-generated images claiming to show Zendaya in a wedding dress and believed she had not been invited to the ceremony.
When asked if he had to reassure his family about the fake images, Holland replied, "No, because they were all there."
Pressed for further comment, the actor said, "That's all you'll get on that."
Speculation about the couple's marriage had been circulating since January, when Zendaya's stylist, Law Roach, said on the Golden Globes red carpet that their wedding had "already happened" and was "very true." His remarks sparked widespread discussion online and led to the circulation of AI-generated images claiming to show Zendaya at the alleged wedding.
Zendaya, 29, addressed the fake images earlier this year during the promotional tour for 'The Drama' on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.' She said people had approached her to congratulate her on wedding photographs she had never taken.
"They're AI. They're not real," she said, adding that several people close to her were also misled by the images and were upset they had not received an invitation.
During the Esquire interview, Holland also spoke about his relationship with Zendaya.
"I found my person. She's my best friend, and I'm the happiest I ever have been when I'm with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period," he said.
"Our business can present very stressful situations and it's really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time," he added.
Holland and Zendaya have starred together in three 'Spider-Man' films. They are set to reunite in the fourth instalment, 'Brand New Day', and will also appear together in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film 'The Odyssey', both scheduled for release in July.
