Hyderabad: A protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is underway at Dharna Chowk here, with the protesters demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The call for resignation comes against the backdrop of the NEET paper-leak as well as irregularities related to the CBSE’s on-screen marking system.
Activist Sonam Wangchuk has joined the protest and is set to address the gathering.
The protesters raised slogans like "we want justice" and 'resign Dharmendra Pradhan', voicing their frustration against the union government. The protest is part of a series of nationwide campaigns by CJP.
A senior police official said permission was granted to the party to hold dharna till this afternoon.
